On my face today #14

Fall and smokey eye pretty much go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly, but instead of using black, grey and other cool tone colors, I like to use different shades of brown and neutral colors on my lids because it fits my skin tone better, looks more natural and friendly, and gives a nice depth to my face. Today’s I’m keeping it extremely simple on the face, only applying some neutral warm eyeshadow all over the lids, then mixing with some darker browns for a more neutral smokey eye, and pair with a nice rose-y, brown-y nude lips using my favorite dark nude lip color. What’s your fall go to look?

Another snow day for us over here in the DC area, hooray?  Since I’m staying home therefore have more time to mess around, I decided to put on a little makeup to help me feel pretty and alive in the gloomy snow day.  Today’s makeup I’m still keeping everything simple, using my first ever eyeshadow palette and add some gorgeous but light lip color!  Winter can’t be over soon enough…

Well hello beautiful!  I finally purchased the Lorac Pro Palette and I’m oh so excited!  After started using eyeshadow more, I want to explore and play with more colors than the ones in my Naked2 which is mostly neutral, but I also don’t want to go too crazy because I would like to use it on a daily basis.  I decided to purchase the Lorac Pro Palette after seeing all the reviews and raves on the blogosphere.

The packaging for the palette is a matte material that has a similar touch as the NARS packaging which I love, and the overall look is very clean and crisp, it’s not what I was expecting it to be, a nice surprise for sure!  The palette is equally split with 8 shimmer and 8 matte eyeshadows, which I like a lot more compare to the Naked2 which has mostly shimmer.  The colors are very diverse, if you look at them individually it’s hard to tell if they’ll look good with each other, but when I see them together side by side I see all the possibilities of different color combinations using that palette.

This is a very beautiful palette indeed, I’m excited to use it for a more neutral look for work and explore the darker and crazier colors for a night out on the weekend, and will be sure to do a review of the swatch and how it applies once I test it out more!
