One of the perks of being a designer is you can “express your creativity” through the way you dress when going to your 9-5 job, I can pretty much wear anything I want as long as its not shorts and flip flops or looks sloppy. It is not to say I don’t like dressing up, but I think my definition of dressing up is a little different than others. I love outfits that are comfortable, look effortless yet stylish, and there are many ways you can accomplish that with a lounge item by dressing it up or down to make it work appropriate or weekend casual. For example a casual tank can be dressed up with a statement jewelry and blazer for a more formal look, or down with sandals and a drape-y cardigan for a relaxed style.
Today I’m pairing the Lou and Grey Criss-Cross Tank in Orange Peacock with my Lou and Grey Back Zip Leggings, which is a very casual combination. So to avoid looking like I just roll off of my bed and come to work, I wore my Nine West boots from years back and a chambray shirt from Target to complete this outfit. Reasons for adding the collared chambray shirt is to create a texture mix and match layering effect and to avoid showing too much skin to make the look more workplace appropriate. This is definitely more of a weekend than work attire, but after all it is “Casual Friday”, so I decided to push the dress code a little bit.
